From December 22 to 26, 2024, Badya University had the honor of welcoming Dr. Hani Serag, MD, MPH, Director of the Division of Global Partnerships at the School of Public and Population Health, University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).
During his visit, Dr. Serag led a workshop on grant writing, which was attended by faculty members from the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, and School of Physical Therapy. The workshop offered practical guidance on the fundamentals of research proposal development and funding strategies.
In addition to the faculty session, Dr. Serag conducted an orientation session on the upcoming Summer Exchange Program between Badya University and UTMB. The session drew strong interest from students across the university’s health profession schools, reflecting a high level of enthusiasm for international academic opportunities.
Dr. Serag also delivered two lectures during his visit. The first, titled “Governance for Global Health,” addressed structural and policy considerations in global health systems. The second, “Comparative Health Systems,” provided a cross-national perspective on healthcare delivery models and outcomes.
This visit further strengthened the collaboration between Badya University and UTMB, supporting ongoing academic exchange and institutional development.
